Fashion model Lydia Hearst has become the new face of high end boutique lingerie brand Myla, and will help to promote both the brand’s autumn and winter collection. The 2007 Supermodel of the Year as crowned by the Michael Awards, Hearst brings a classic look to the 1940’s era inspired fashion of of Myla. Franceska Luther, the creative director of Myla, has been quoted as saying that she was “delighted when the opportunity arose to work with Lydia” and added that “She has an amazing dynamic energy. She perfectly represents the Myla women.” Lydia has previously modeled for Heatherette and Puma, and appeared on screen in the hit CW show Gossip Girl.

Although Lydia has made name for herself in fashion, it is her family which is better known to most of the world. Her great-grandfather was famous American newspaper tycoon William Randolph Hearst who was the inspiration for the Orson Welles’ classic Citizen Kane. Her mother, Patricia Hearst, is famously remembered as a victim of Stockholm Syndrome when she was captured by, and later became a member of, the SLA, a left wing, urban guerrilla group. Patricia was jailed for robbing banks at gunpoint with the SLA, although she only served 22 months before her sentence was commuted by then President Jimmy Carter.

Myla Lingerie, which was founded in 1999, has quickly grown into one of the hottest, and most sophisticated brands of lingerie on the market. Competing with high end outfits like Agent Provocateur, Myla has carved its niche with exclusive and exotic designs, and by adding Lydia Hearst, they now have the superstar face that they need to take the brand to the next level.
