Lingerie Bowl – Lingerie Football League Aims to Make Football Sexy!

With the Super Bowl completed (and on a side not we here at Yandy still feel like the Cardinals were ROBBED), football fans have little to do but wait sit through over a half a year of bush league sports like basketball and baseball in order to get back to the glory time of the real American Sport. What may make the wait even more difficult is the fact that we are going to have to wait about the same amount of time before we get to the new season of what could easily be the most amazingly ridiculous new league sport, the LFL or Lingerie Football League. Although active since 2005 spawning from the success of the Lingerie Bowl Super Bowl halftime pay per view event, 2008 was a breakout year for the new sport, expanding from four to ten teams with four additional teams planned to be added in the upcoming years.

This should come as a relief of fans of the sport who were disappointed when the Lingerie Bowl that was scheduled to be played this year in Tampa failed to materialize. The original problem stemmed from a dispute between the promoters and the city of Tampa who objected to the content of the Lingerie Bowl. After finding a temporary new home in Caliente, a nudist colony located close to Tampa, promoters ultimately had to cancel the event due to the wishes of some of the players who were offended by the new choice of venue. I find it a little ironic that players who have no problems playing in less then nothing would object to a little free swinging nudity, but nevertheless, the decision was made and owners decided to focus on the upcoming season that will begin on 9-4-09.

Although we are looking forward to the new season, and I understand why they would want the season to coincide with the NFL, it would be nice to have some football to look forward to in these down months. Either way, I know that I am looking forward to what is looking to be the breakout year for both the Lingerie Football League, and the Lingerie Bowl.
